About
I completed my Ph.D. in Geography at the University of British Columbia and the University of Nottingham.
From Lexington, Kentucky. I have lived and worked in North Carolina, Singapore, Canada, and the U.K.
My geographical experience is shaped through life in southern U.S. suburbias’ ticky-tacky boxes to a bucolic American college-town campus, a modernist social housing flat in Southeast Asia, a shared subterranean space in ‘Nofuncity’, and finally a Victorian terrace for the British working class.
Research:
Research interests in digital economies, urban governance, crowds/collectives, and social and economic justice.
My current (dissertation) research is looking at the emergence of crowdfunding for urban development in the U.K., with a particular interest in how this digital economy interfaces with urban governance at the local level.
